The newest golf complex in Bulgaria Lighthouse Golf Resort & Spa opened its doors in the immediate proximity of Balchik at the beginning of September. It is situated on the rocks overlooking the Black Sea, spreads over an area of nearly one square kilometer and offers a professional 18-hole golf course designed by the world renowned golf player Ian Woosnam under the supervision of European Golf Design. Woosnam is a legend in the golf world. As a captain of the European team for the Ryder Cup, he won the 2006 title. Woosnam, one of the greatest British golf players in history, still plays actively today in Europe, America and Asia. The major investment in the complex amounts to 70mln euro. Besides the golf course, Lighthouse Golf Resort includes five residential areas with different sized apartments, individual and attached houses, and luxurious villas.
